Originally from Florida, Kathryn grew up in Greensboro and still lives here with her family nearby. She discovered Pilates during the pandemic after moving back from Virginia. Club Pilates was the only studio open, and it quickly became a life-changing decision.
Dealing with chronic back and knee pain, Kathryn found that Pilates significantly reduced her daily discomfort. Inspired by the impact it had on her own body, she became an instructor to help others experience the same transformation.
Kathryn has been teaching for nearly four years and joined Monarchs in August 2024. She loves seeing clients grow stronger and more confident, especially those recovering from injury. Her favorite moves? The Mermaid for a satisfying stretch, and side-lying exercises for building strength in the hips, legs, and knees, many of which mirror the work she did in physical therapy.
Heather Jaynes is a Pilates instructor by day, performer by night, and always up for a good stretch or spontaneous dance break. When she’s not cueing breathwork or helping clients find their powerhouse, you’ll find her acting onstage, voicing characters behind the mic, supporting local nonprofits, or nerding out over a new Pilates prop.
Originally from Racine, Wisconsin, Heather grew up in the Midwest but considers “home” anywhere with a good mat and a little sunshine. Though she grew up with animals, she doesn’t have pets—unless you count the way she treats her spine: flexible, strong, and always wagging (in neutral alignment, of course). Her friends and family are her foundation—equal parts cheerleaders, comedians, and reality checks.
Heather found Pilates while recovering from a right hip arthroscopy and struggling with back pain. After one class, she felt healed and completely hooked on the strength, precision, and mind-body magic Pilates offers. She’s been teaching since 2021 and is known for remembering everyone’s favorite spring settings and go-to stretch during feet in straps.
Her favorite part of teaching is watching people surprise themselves, whether it’s holding a teaser or simply showing up on a tough day. Her favorite move? The Hundred. It’s classic, fiery, and impossible to fake, just like Heather on a Monday morning.

Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Carrie Monaghan brings warmth, experience, and an infectious love for movement to every session. With over 20 years of personal Pilates practice and more than a year of teaching at Monarch, she draws on a deep connection to the work, which began with a simple mat class and quickly turned into a lifelong passion.
Pilates helped Carrie navigate injuries, pregnancies, surgeries, and even the challenges of Breast Cancer- an experience that now fuels her desire to support others through functional strength. She believes Pilates is for everyone, regardless of age, ability, or background, and finds true fulfillment in the moment a client realizes just how strong and capable they are.
When she’s not teaching her favorite move (The Walkover), Carrie is at home with her husband, Tom, their two kids, Brenna and Ty, and a busy house full of pets: Biscuit and Cocoa (miniature labradoodles), Frisk and Zaro (cats), and Vince, the fish.
Spencer Acker is a North Carolina native, originally from Waxhaw, just outside of Charlotte. When he’s not in the studio teaching Pilates, you can find him painting, lifting weights, or working on his own Pilates practice.
Spencer moved to the High Point/Greensboro area to be closer to family, including his mom, uncle, aunt, and cousins who’ve lived in the area for years. While he doesn’t have any pets at the moment, his days are full of creativity, movement, and connection.
His Pilates journey began thanks to a friend who invited him to a class at Club Pilates, where she worked the front desk. That one invitation turned into a job as a sales associate, and eventually, a path to becoming a certified instructor.
Spencer joined Monarch just a few months ago and is already making an impact. What he loves most about teaching is how quickly clients feel a difference in their bodies—and how they often leave class smiling, more energized than when they walked in. His favorite move? The knee stretch on the reformer.
